Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) are an essential part of the UK’s journey to net zero, providing vital flexibility to the electricity network. As the UK moves towards a renewables dominated electricity system, balancing services are needed so we can store electricity when wind and solar energy are abundant and release it during peak times when consumer usage increases.

Electricity use at Guilsborough Lodge Farm is an essential part of the business providing light, heat and power for plant and machinery. This project will contribute to the long term viability of the farm through diversification.

PowerPod is a compact energy storage solution, developed by Gridsource and an alternative to large scale renewable developments. The solution has been developed as an alternative for landowners who have neither the appetite or land requirements for a large utility scale project, but still want to receive the benefits of hosting an energy storage system on their land.
