P O W E R P O D is a compact energy storage solution, developed by Gridsource and an alternative to large scale renewable developments.
The solution has been developed as an alternative for landowners who have neither the appetite or land requirements for a large utility scale project, but still want to receive the benefits of an energy storage system installed on their land.
The Solution
P O W E R P O D consists of an electrical substation provided by the host Distribution Network Operator (DNO) cable connected to the nearest high voltage connection point, a comm’s cabinet for protection, metering, optimisation & remote monitoring equipment, a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS), a Power Conversion System (PCS) plus security fence. The solution, similar to the size of a tennis court, is accessed by either an existing or newly constructed access road.
